So every year, there's usually at least one song that just hits me like a ton of bricks at Christmas. Tonight there were two. They were on a CD that I had made myself a few years ago, and they're songs I've known for over a decade, maybe longer. I've heard them countless times, and although I always knew the message, I don't think it ever got to me like they did tonight.
Richard and I were on our way to Zoo Lights, so I popped in some tunes. Right off the bat, my favorite Kenneth Cope songs were featured (he's fabulous, by the way). "More Than Just A Boy," a duet between Joseph and Mary, brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes. Like I said before, I've loved this song for a long, long time. But tonight... it was just what I needed.

Then, just as soon as I was able to get my emotions in check, "Three Kings/I Cannot Find My Way" from Michael McLean's "The Forgotten Carols" started. If there's a song I feel I relate to right now, it's this one.

Good thing we arrived at the zoo before I started bawling. We had a fantastic time, and if you get the chance to go, you should. We made some really nice memories tonight...and I was reminded, yet again, of the true Light of the season.
