Amelia Island: Day One

Me and my very tired honey, shots of the sunrise from seat 22A, and then shots of riding over the clouds in Texas, also in seat 22A.

We're finally here! I almost can't believe it. After a VERY early start to the day on very little sleep (we were up at 3 am!), we have finally arrived at our destination. We flew out of Salt Lake City at 6 this morning, and had a layover in Dallas, Texas. While waiting in Dallas, they announced that there was something wrong with our plane. Um, not really the news I was hoping to hear. So we waited. Then we waited a little bit more. Richard and I didn't really mind, because we were sitting on the floor playing Go Fish and Skip Bo. Eventually they announced they'd gotten us a different plane and loaded us up. Then we waited for the luggage to be loaded. That part kind of bugged because we were sitting behind some very inconsiderate people. We were already like sardines in a can, and the people in front of us put their chairs back to the point I literally couldn't move my leg. But he did get a few punches in the back, and I'm okay with that.

Anyway, long story short, we're here and I'm so excited! It is so incredibly beautiful here. Everything is green and in bloom. On both sides of the road, there are just hundreds of different types of trees all mixed together. Pines, weeping willows, and palm trees. To my winter-weary eyes, it's perfection. I'm sitting here in our room, listening to the ocean. Yup, we're so close that we can hear the waves crashing. I LOVE IT HERE!! I'll update more later or tomorrow.
