Christmas

Christmas was two days ago, and it was wonderful for us. Thursday night, Christmas Eve, was spent at my parents' house in Spanish Fork. Our tradition is Chinese food and new pajamas. We also played a lot of cards this year, and Dad even played too. That rarely happens, so it was a treat. Our niece Jocie also got on the table and danced up a storm for us (She's about a year and a half old). I wish I had pictures, but I forgot the camera. Duh.

Christmas Morning was special, since it was our first Christmas in our new home. Richard really spoiled me with presents this year, and he did really well with what he got me. It was very clear he'd been paying attention to things I'd mentioned or noticed and liked. He's very sweet that way. But more than the presents, there was a magic about the morning. Unwrapping the gifts in the glow of the lights on the tree, laughing and smiling and just loving being together, it was so relaxing and just so comfortable.

Our friend Joshua was with us this year too, and it was nice to have him add to the mix. Taking turns opening our presents and getting excited about our new treasures was a great way to start the morning. Then we had a crazy breakfast of taquitos and sparkling orange juice and went back to bed. Yup, Christmas is magic.

After nap time, we fulfilled another tradition my family has: Mexican food on Christmas Day. I made chicken enchiladas then we watched "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol."

I have loved this Holiday Season. I loved listening to the music, I loved being with family and friends, I loved keeping our traditions and possibly starting new ones. But most of all I loved the peace and joy that I truly felt this year. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday too.
