Time for another update

Hi kids! Richard and I got back from his business trip on Saturday but I haven't really felt like blogging. Shame on me. But since I feel like updating on a few other topics, here goes.

We had a good time in Vegas overall, but word to the wise: The Las Vegas Hilton really kinda sucks. We got lucky because we didn't have to pay for it. But it will never be our first choice for lodging in Vegas. Why? Because the people are jerkbags, there are crazy rules, everything is outrageously overpriced, the slots are the tightest we've ever played, and the parking situation was ridiculous. I don't mind walking. I like it actually. But when you're parked so far away from your hotel room that you have to stop partway and take a rest because your bags are so heavy you can't make it in one shot...yeah, that's a pain.

I know it sounds like I'm just complaining. Well, yeah. But still, when you pay 5 bucks for a blueberry muffin and the concierge thinks it's fun to be a smart aleck when you're asking directions, the little things start to add up. But I digress. We did have some good times while there. We went to Excalibur and saw "Tournament of Kings." It was way better than Medieval Times, and our King was way hot. In fact, he was going to be last week's Saturday Night Sugar but I couldn't find a good pic. Sadness.

Our last night we stayed at Boulder Station and had a wonderful time. We had the entire day to be together since he didn't have class, and that was fabulous. We swam, we ate waaaay too many crab legs, we came out a few hundred dollars ahead on the penny slots, and we just loved being together. And that was by far the best day of the trip.

Also, a few of you have asked about the latest on our house situation. In short: This is driving us crazy. Basically we're dealing with some of the most incompetent people in the state. We had to get approved by two banks: Taylor Bean and Whittaker and WaMu. We got approved by WaMu in like a day and a half. TBaW took about 2 months. In the meantime, the approval by WaMu expired so we had to get it approved again. Shouldn't be a problem right, because they approved so fast the last time? Wrong, because while waiting for TBaW, WaMu got taken over by Chase. So now we're waiting for approval by Chase. If they don't hurry up, TBaW is just going to let it slide into full foreclosure and all of a sudden, we have to try to buy this house at auction.

We got our loan lock extended for the next 15 days...so if you feel like praying for us, crossing your fingers for us, or just sending happy thoughts, we thank you in advance.
