I tried to think back to all the shows and movies we've watched this week, asking myself the question "who is cute enough to earn a number one spot on our blog today? When nobody came to mind, I tried a different tactic - I checked the Internet. I checked the winners of the Golden Globes to see if anyone really stood out. Nobody did. So I checked IMDB to see if anyone fit the bill. Again, I came up empty.
After putting all this thought into tonight's 'Sunday Sugar,' I realized there is really only one person who deserves the title 'Sugar' - my beloved Lyndsie. In all this world, in all this universe or sphere of existence, there's really only one person I want to spend my time with. There's really only one person who can cheer me up with just one look at her beautiful face. There's really only one person who makes life worthwhile.
Though we've been together more than five years, I don't really have very many pictures of my love. Those who know us realize how utterly gorgeous she is, and everyone else can just guess. These are the few images that I really think show my beloved as she really is.
The first picture on this post is Lyndsie holding Jocie, our niece. I'd like you to note how incredibly natural she is with the baby, and how absolutely 'right' that picture is. It warms the soul and gives hope for the future.
The next image shows a bit of Lyndsie's silly side. She has the most amazing way of making me and others laugh. A laugh brought on by Lyndsie is a true laugh that makes you feel happy and safe on the inside.
The third image is from before she and I met. Notice her smile and her eyes. Something about the way she looks at me makes me feel like I am worth something, like I have some reason to keep on pushing forward in life. She believes in people whom others would cast off as lost causes. She believes in me.
The last two pictures were taken just last November while vacationing for my birthday. She took me to this magnificent bed and breakfast in Midway and on a road trip across other parts of Utah. We had a great time. In fact, I can't remember ever being so happy as I was on that trip. When I took these pictures, the light was so wonderful it made her eyes just 'pop' on the camera screen. Our camera is a real piece of crap, so the final shots were not quite right. I did a little photo tweaking to fix the camera's mistake. Please forgive the edit.
The thing about Lyndsie's eyes is their depth and caring. I could look into those eyes and get lost with no desire to ever look away again. Through her eyes you can really see a soul that's good and right. She is too humble to acknowledge what I know for fact: she has the biggest heart I've ever known and the world is a far better place for her being in it. For all these things and more, I love her. For all these reasons, she is tonight's sugar. And I will stand by her forever.

Lyndsie~ I don't know where you got this hubby of yours, but he sure is a keeper!!! And even though it's not really a "letter", it's a love letter that your kids will see in the future...
And Richard: Could you please call my husband and teach him how to be so sweet?!?
Nice one.
