Happy Birthday, Richard!

This past weekend was a wonderful one for us. My parents invited us to an air show in Las Vegas on Saturday, so Friday night we drove down to Mesquite, Nevada after Richard got home from work. Bright and early Saturday morning, we drove to Vegas to Nellis Air Force Base. We'd never been to an air show before, so we didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be pretty fabulous! There were many cool things to see, from the different planes and jets to trick pilots and even a car that drove faster than an F-16. We really got into it, but my favorite part, by far, was the presentation by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. They were amazing! Such precision and perfection, both on the ground and in the air. It was so powerful...and surprisingly emotional as well. I remember I was feeling really patriotic and proud to be American that day...and super proud of my dad for his service in the Air Force, too.

After the show that night, we went back to our hotel and had dinner, but we also talked Mom and Dad into going to play Bingo with us, too...and that was so fun! I won $50, and Mom came so close to winning too! I had so much fun with Mom, Dad, and Richard, and I didn't even almost have a nervous breakdown like before. Thanks, Mom and Dad! We had a great time...and that salad bar! Wow! :)

Sunday morning Richard and I took off for Midway, to a B&B called Johnson Mill. Although I was feeling kind of let down when we first got there, it quickly grew on me. Our room was huge, with an incredible jacuzzi tub, a bed so high it had a stepladder, and a balcony overlooking a waterfall. It was a perfect place to celebrate his birthday. After breakfast the next morning (I'm still not quite sure what it was we ate, lol), we went for a stroll along the grounds. Even though it was lightly raining, it wasn't too cold, and it turned out to be lovely. We already have a room picked out for next time.

After checking out at Johnson Mill, we got in the car yet again and drove to Vernal. We spent the afternoon taking pictures with random dinosaurs. It was a blast.

Finally, this morning. Richard turned 29 years old today, and he was sweet enough to spend his birthday in Altamont, Utah. Altamont is the tiniest town I've ever been in. It was also the setting of a Veteran's Day Memorial Ceremony. My grandfather was one of the veterans being celebrated, so that made it all the more special for me. It meant a lot to me that Richard was not only willing to go to the ceremony, but to do it on his birthday. Thank you, sweetheart...and happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, sir.

Looks like the trip was good fun.

I especially enjoyed the impromptu telephone nanananana.
